Join us for a memorable day on the green, where every swing supports VLJ’s mission to provide essential legal services to those in need. Whether you’re an avid golfer or beginner, this event promises fun for all skill levels. Your participation will help us drive justice forward.
Honoring susan mcGahan
SUSAN E. MCGAHAN is currently Assistant Vice President–Senior Legal Counsel at AT&T. Embodying the spirit of pro bono, Susan currently serves as the Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Intellectual Property Law. She is former chair of the AT&T Legal Pro Bono Committee and currently serves as regional Chair of AT&T Northeast Pro Bono.
Susan has been involved in pro bono matters for over two decades while employed at AT&T. She began volunteering with VLJ during the onset of the financial crisis in the late 2000s. She led the inaugural team of AT&T volunteers who participated in VLJ’s then-new legal clinic designed to help debtors experiencing poverty who were being sued in Special Civil Court.
Susan is the longest-standing volunteer with the Debt Relief Legal Program, helping over 125 clients through this critical legal program.
Additionally, she was one of the first attorneys to volunteer at VLJ’s first ReLeSe expungement clinic in February 2020, helping dozens of clients with expungements since.
One of VLJ’s longest-serving board members, Susan joined the Board of Trustees in 2011 and served through 2022. During her tenure she served as VLJ Board Chair from 2016-2020.
We are thrilled to recognize Susan as the inaugural honoree for the 2025 “The Long Drive for Justice” golf outing!
